Over the Wire Releases New Fibre Products

Currently available in approximately 1000 buildings across the Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne CBD Metro areas and growing to approximately 1500 buildings shortly, OTW Fibre Select is providing businesses with a considerable increase in bandwidth at pricing that has traditionally been in the realm of less reliable copper based services.

In today’s market, an increasing reliance on cloud based technology solutions and the Internet in general, means that many companies struggle to get a large enough data connection at an affordable price. A 20Mbps service in metro areas could currently cost anything from $500 up to $1000 per month, depending on the provider. As a contrast to this, OTW Fibre Select is providing 100M Unlimited Internet, delivered on a fibre tail, at less than $500 per month. Additional speed options are also available, up to 400Mbps.

Managing Director of Over the Wire, Michael Omeros, comments “OTW Fibre Select represents a step-change in the corporate data network space. In a time where requirements for reliable digital communication is constantly increasing, investing in larger quantities of bandwidth at such a low price will also allow businesses room to grow. Omeros adds, “By future-proofing their IT and communication services with OTW Fibre Select, businesses can easily converge their voice and data networks as well as look to cloud services to improve business agility and profitability. Significant cost savings can be made here as well, so OTW Fibre Select can be the catalyst for savings on a client’s data communications, voice and IT spend. In addition, since NBNCo has concentrated on locations outside of the CBD areas, this new product is all about offering the NBN experience and benefits sooner.”

Similar to Over the Wire’s suite of connectivity solutions, OTW Fibre Select can be used for both voice and data services and is available as an Internet Only Tail or a Private IP Link.

Over the Wire ranks 49th in BRW Fast 100 2014

Over the Wire is excited to announce that it has been recognised on the BRW Fast 100 list for a second year running. The BRW Fast 100 list is published annually and recognises Australia’s fastest growing companies (calculated by average revenue growth over the past three financial years). After placing 78th on the 2013 BRW Fast 100 list, Over the Wire has continued to accelerate its growth, earning a spot at 49th on the 2014 BRW Fast 100 list.

Over the Wire’s Managing Director Michael Omeros stated that he was “enormously excited that our team’s hard work over the past 12 months has returned such a great result. As a company we have been investing heavily in our people and systems this last year, in an effort to continually improve how we attract new clients, and service our existing ones. Over the Wire's Growth Recognised by Deloitte on International Scale

Over the Wire Recieves 2013 Deloitte Tech Fast 50 Award

Over the Wire today announced that it ranked Number 146 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ Asia Pacific 2013, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in the Asia Pacific region. Rankings are based on percentage revenue growth over three years. 

Over the Wire's Managing Director, Michael Omeros credits the company's strong focus on maintaining positive customer relationships with the company’s 219% revenue growth over the past three years. He said, "Sustaining high levels of growth over an extended period is a difficult task. Over the Wire's ability to grow year on year is the result of a high level of focus on service quality and a proven track record of being able to deliver innovative, cost effective solutions. These qualities are being demanded by the business community, and organisations are willing to switch providers to receive them."

Deloitte Names Over the Wire Australia's 3rd Fastest Growing Telco

Over the Wire Recieves 2013 Deloitte Tech Fast 50 Award

For the second time in as many months Over the Wire is pleased to announce that it has been recognised as one of Australia’s fastest growing companies, this time by Deloitte in their 2013 Technology Fast 50 list (having been previously recognised in the BRW Fast 100 awards in September).  Yesterday Over the Wire's Managing Director Michael Omeros accepted the award at a ceremony held in Sydney, along with Over the Wire's General Manager of Services, Simon Wren.
Over the Wire placed 13th on the list overall, achieving the third highest levels of growth for the telecommunications and networking sector.

Omeros stated that he was "proud to have our efforts acknowledged by a global leader in business consulting like Deloitte" and that "it was a reflection of Over the Wire's commitment to high levels of service quality and ability to design innovative solutions for our clients."

The Technology Fast 50 list is published annually and recognises the top 50 Australian technology companies by revenue growth (calculated by average revenue growth over the past three financial years).



With Great Moustache Comes Great Responsibility

Mo-ver the Wire Movember LogoThe time has finally come for Mo-ver the Wire's team to reassemble themselves in another month of glorious (or in many cases emasculating) facial topiary. Last year, thanks to the support of our many generous donors, the Mo-ver the Wire team raised just under a thousand dollars for the Movember initiative.

This year we are asking you to dig deep and help us break that record by raising $5000.00 for this most auspicious and gentlemanly of initiatives. If you would like to make a difference to the state of mens' health, or perhaps if you would like to indulge in some philtrum based schadenfreude, please dig deep and make a generous donation to our team

For those who haven’t heard of it, Movember is an annually held worldwide event aimed at changing the face of men’s health (pun intended) by supporting research efforts and practical initiates for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health issues. 

Rules of Movember:

  1. Once registered, each Mo Bro must begin the 1st of Movember with a clean shaven face.
  2. For the entire month of Movember each Mo Bro must grow and groom a moustache.
  3. There is to be no joining if the Mo to the side burns
    (This is considered a beard).
  4. There is to be no joining of the handlebars to your chin
    (This is considered a goatee).
  5. Each Mo bro must conduct himself like a true country gentleman.

Over the Wire Named One of Australia's Fastest Growing Companies

Over the Wire is pleased to announce that it has been recognised as one of Australia’s fastest growing companies by Business Review Weekly (BRW) magazine in the 2013 BRW Fast 100 Awards. The Fast 100 list is published annually and recognises the top 100 Australian companies by revenue growth (calculated by average revenue growth over the past three financial years).  Last week Over the Wire Directors Michael Omeros and Brent Paddon attended the awards ceremony in Melbourne.

Over the Wire’s Managing Director Michael Omeros stated that he was "very pleased that Over the Wire was on this years list as it provides recognition of the enormous sustained effort that Over the Wire’s staff have demonstrated over the past thirty-six months. It has been a exciting time for us, we have doubled our number of staff, expanded our network to span Australia and New Zealand, increased our colocation space by over 650%, and have made a range of new cloud services available to our clients." Omeros further added that "this achievement would not have been possible without the support of each and every one of our clients, from the small businesses to the multinationals, and on behalf of Over the Wire I would like to offer my thanks to each of them."

This year marks the second time that Over the Wire has been included on a BRW list. The previous inclusion (in 2010) was in the Fast Starters category, which recognises the growth of businesses that have been in operation for less than three years.

Telecommunications Embargo Period

The end of another year is nearly upon us, so those wishing to connect new telecommunications services will need to ensure that they plan around the embargo period. The hard embargo period will begin from Monday 16th December, and will run until Monday 13th January. During this time new network service installations are not performed by most carriers, so if you are looking to get network connections setup prior to this period make sure you contact your Account Manager as soon as possible.

Support for all services will be maintained throughout this period, and provision of new services such as Voice, Colocation, and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) will remain unaffected.

Partner Conference Success

Over the Wire's First Partner Conference Successful

Forty-five leading professionals from twenty-four different organisations attended Over the Wire’s partner conference earlier this month to witness the unveiling of several new services. The conference was the first of many such events, which Over the Wire director Brent Paddon is confident “will continue to offer our partners valuable information, tools, and networking opportunities.”

The focus of the conference was "What's New at Over the Wire", with sections highlighting new products and tools available to Over the Wire's partners. Partners wishing to get access to the tools demonstrated during the presentation, including those who were unable to attend, should contact their Over the Wire Account Manager.

The next conference is due to occur in early 2014. Partners will be invited to attend once dates have been finalised.
